A Personal Note from Will McMordie
I grew up in and around the water safety community. For over 10 years, I have been an infant survival swim instructor and have worked extensively on being part of the solution when it comes to preventing child drownings.
To me, the most important thing you can do to help your child be safe in the water or wider world around them is to equip them with survival swimming skills, but the best thing you can do to make your backyard safer is put a barrier directly around the pool. Life Saver Pool Fence is the gold standard of safety when it comes to pool barriers. It’s the last line of defense between your child (or pet) and your pool.
At the end of the day, these layers of protection complement each other in the mission of preventing childhood drowning.
We Believe
We believe parents should have more tools at their disposal to help keep kids safe and on dry ground. Keeping children safe is the most important job adults have, and keeping them out of the pool when they shouldn’t be there is the best place to start. Drowning is the #1 cause of accidental death in children ages 1-4. There is so much more work to do to improve water safety for children in the Houston area.
